2024 Award Winners

Dr. Nadia Delanoy, President Walden Virtual Fulbright

Dr. Nadia Delanoy is the President of the Walden Virtual Fulbright Chapter. Dr. Nadia Delanoy is the Director of Student Experience and an Assistant Professor in the Educational Leadership, Policy, and Governance department at the University of Calgary. She is an interdisciplinary scholar-practitioner working at the intersections of technology, leadership, and data science/assessment. Her research interests include AI in teaching and learning environments, evidence-based practice in assessment, leadership, and innovative pedagogies in technology-enhanced environments. Nadia’s research also focuses on big data and social media analytics to support innovative leadership practices. As the president of the Walden Virtual Fulbright Board, Nadia is a collaborative leader, who helps inspire excellence by ensuring there is quality programming and professional learning opportunities offered every year. The educational programming in partnership with the Foreign Policy Association and Fulbright Association, as well as offerings to help early scholars publish as well as develop their own leadership brand, are some examples of the work Nadia has led. With her leadership, we will continue to offer valuable and authentic professional learning that reflects the vision and mission of the Fulbright Association.

Dr. Tom Butkiewicz, Vice President Walden Virtual Fulbright

Dr. Tom Butkiewicz is a core faculty member in the PhD Management program at Walden University's College of Management and Human Potential. Dr. Tom is on Walden's advisory board for The National Society of Leadership and Success. He serves as the Walden University Virtual Fulbright Chapter's vice president and recipient of the 2024 Outstanding Virtual Leader of the Year Award. Dr. Tom's academic experience includes being a dissertation chair, second committee member, lead faculty member for dissertation and research courses, and doctoral residency and intensive mentor. His research interests include positive leadership, management, veterans' affairs, emotional intelligence, sustainable social impact, diversity, appreciative inquiry, and virtue ethics.

Dr. Tom is a journal reviewer for the Academy of Management, Online Learning Consortium, and International Journal of Applied Management and Technology. He worked for 26 years as an operations manager in the auto industry for Mitsubishi Motors. He proudly concluded 20 years of honorable service to this great country as a field operations Chief Warrant Officer–3 in the United States Marine Corps Reserve. Dr. Tom pursues positive social change by supporting the Multiple Sclerosis Society. His nearly 25-year commitment to the MS Society comprises fundraising through community walks and bicycle rides. Dr. Tom's positive social change focus expands further as a strategic development committee board member for a new church building project in California.

Latrell Floyd, Communication Chair Divine Nine Alliance

My name is Latrell Floyd and I currently serve as the Divine Nine Alliance’s Communication Chair. I have served in this position going on two years now. I received my MS in Communication from Walden University in 2021, my Master of Public Administration from Eastern Kentucky University in 2019 and my Bachelors in Communication Studies in 2017. I am currently pursuing my Executive Certificate (Doctoral level certificate) from Liberty University with an expected graduation date of October 2025.

I begin my journey at Walden University joining and immediately serving in the role as Secretary for the Divine Nine Alliance and then moving into the position I am currently in. DNA helped me get accommodated at Walden University and I was and still am inspired and look up to all of the members in the organization such as Dr. Rochelle Gilbert.

Linda Morris, President Golden Key

Linda Morris is the President and Ambassador of the Golden Key International Honour Society at Walden University and a proud National Society of Leadership & Success member. With over 15 years of experience in leadership positions, Linda is passionate about motivating and encouraging others to strive for excellence, regardless of their circumstances.

Linda holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Master of Business Administration. Her commitment to fostering a supportive and empowering environment has significantly impacted those she leads. Linda aims to inspire individuals to reach their full potential and achieve their goals through hard work and dedication.

In addition to her leadership, Linda actively participates in community service initiatives, believing in the importance of giving back. She has conducted workshops and seminars on personal development and leadership skills, helping others build confidence and resilience. Linda is known for her approachable demeanor and ability to connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds. She continuously seeks opportunities for professional growth and encourages her peers to do the same. Outside of her professional endeavors, Linda enjoys reading, traveling, and spending quality time with her family. Her dedication to lifelong learning and personal growth is a model for those around her.

2023 Award Winners

Dr. Charity T. Adams: President Divine Nine Alliance

Dr. Charity T. Adams is currently the Manager of Student Life, Leadership, and Engagement and faculty advisor for the Golden Key Honour Society.   She has over 20 years of professional experience, serving in several distinct roles in public, private, and community-based adult education programs. Dr. Adams is dedicated to service and inspired by guiding others toward their own path of success and happiness.

She is an active Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. member and has significantly impacted her community.  She supports student organizations like Divine Nine Alliance (DNA), volunteers for multiple community organizations, and continues to help small businesses through her research on business planning strategies.  Her dedication and commitment to service have earned her the prestigious Leadership Excellence Award from Walden University. Driven by her family and inspired by Booker T. Washington's words, Charity believes true happiness comes from helping others.

Dr. Nadia Delanoy:President Walden Virtual Fulbright Dr. Nadia Delanoy is the President of the Walden Virtual Fulbright Chapter. She is an Assistant Professor in Leadership, Policy, and Governance at the Werklund School of Education. Her research is situated in using a data science lens on how organizational leaders can become more adaptive and apply innovative leadership approaches to strategy, policy, governance, and professional learning in increasingly complex systems.

Given her role in the chapter and in the advocacy space, Nadia is committed to education for good and positive social change by leading the design and implementation of inclusionary programming and program evaluations in a larger educational context. Within this chapter she has led initiatives in Haiti, between Canada and the United States to support veterans transitioning to civilian life, and in partnership with other educational entities. Through rich collaboration, Nadia supports the chapter board and helps implement clear strategic goals to advance the mission and vision of the Fulbright Association.

Julie Uribe – President, Chi Sigma Iota

Dr. Braxton Morrison – 2022 President, Student Veterans Association

Dr. Braxton Morrison is a 2019 and 2023 graduate from Walden University with master’s degrees in emergency management and philosophy, and a PhD in human services with a specialization in disaster, crisis, and intervention.

During Dr. Morrison’s time at Walden University, he served as the President of the Student Veteran’s Association, was accepted into Golden Key Academy and TUA Upsilon Alpha and was inducted into the National Society of Leadership & Success.

Dr. Morrison now presents at conferences nationwide and conducts training, bringing awareness and recognition to the ever-growing crisis intervention profession.
