Outstanding Chapter of the Year
2024 Award Winners
Walden Virtual Fulbright Chapter
The Walden Virtual Fulbright Chapter received the Chapter of the Year award for demonstrating exceptional commitment to leadership development, community service, and member engagement by completing the Foreign Education Policy program. Walden’s chapter was also awarded the national Virtual Chapter of the Year by the Fulbright Association.
Phi Alpha (Social Work)
The Phi Alpha Honor Society received the Chapter of the Year award for their exceptional commitment to social change, community service, and membership engagement. Members of Phi Alpha volunteered in their community a minimum of three hours every quarter.
Student Veterans Association (SVA)
The Student Veterans Association (SVA) received the Chapter of the Year award for demonstrating excellent commitment to their members by finalizing an annual scholarship program and participating in their annual social change project that includes sending out Thank You letters to all of the VA Homes across the country.
2023 Award Winners
Chi Sigma Iota
The Chi Sigma Iota Honor Society received the Chapter of the Year award for leading impactful community service projects, organizing donation drives and fundraising for charities, such as the Red Cross, and member engagement. Chi Sigma Iota regularly put on game nights and trivia nights for members.
Walden Virtual Fulbright
The Walden Virtual Fulbright Chapter received the Chapter of the Year award for demonstrating exceptional commitment to leadership development, community service, and member engagement by completing the Foreign Education Policy program. Walden’s chapter was also awarded the national Virtual Chapter of the Year by the Fulbright Association.
Golden Key Honour Society
The Golden Key Honor Society demonstrated exceptional commitment to social change, community service, and member engagement in 2023. The Golden Key Honor Society participated in Yoga for Mental Health Awareness and fundraised for Feeding America.
2022 Award Winners
Chi Sigma Iota
The Chi Sigma Iota Honor Society received the Chapter of the Year award for taking on initiatives to current issues, like mental health awareness. Chi Sigma Iota continued to exemplify Walden’s honor society Standards of Excellence by creating a welcoming and inclusive culture, with events and resources that celebrated diversity.
Phi Alpha
The Phi Alpha Honor Society received the Chapter of the Year award for member engagement and virtual social change projects. One of the social change projects that Phi Alpha members did was read to students through Zoom at Azela Elementary. Phi Alpha also held quarterly membership meetings and game nights.
Student Veterans Association
The Student Veterans Association (SVA) received the Chapter of the Year award for their work on celebrating and recognizing Veterans across the Walden community and the United States. SVA wrote and sent Thank You cards to over 140 VA Homes across the country for Veterans Day. SVA also awarded 5 current SVA members a $500 cash scholarship to help with education funds.
