In this research course, students develop core knowledge and skills for understanding and critically analyzing psychology research at the graduate level. Students explore the philosophy of science, the role of theoretical constructs, and implications for applied evidence-based practice. Quantitative and qualitative research designs and corresponding sampling, data collection, and data analysis methods are introduced, and the alignment of research components is emphasized. Students also explore ethical and social change implications of psychology research. Students demonstrate their knowledge and skills by developing a research terminology index, conducting critical reviews of quantitative and qualitative research articles, and producing an article literature review.
