The course guides doctoral students through the critical process of evaluating existing research and data sources relevant to public safety problems. Students will develop and refine skills in locating, assessing, and applying evidence-based research, with a focus on methodological integrity, data quality, ethical and legal considerations, and the impact on public trust and public policy. By the end of the course, students will be equipped to critically evaluate research and data, justify interventions, and contribute to evidence-based solutions in public safety leadership. The course culminates in a professional presentation drawing conclusions from the evaluated research.
