PSYR 8220 - Projective Personality Assessment (5 credits)

(5 credits)

This course is designed to introduce students to the theory and concepts relevant to projective personality assessment, as well as to build the skills needed to administer, score, and interpret specific measures of personality and social-emotional functioning in a professionally and ethically responsible manner. Attention will be given to The Rorschach Inkblot Test, the Thematic Apperception Test (TAT), House-Tree-Person (HTP), and sentence completion techniques. Course content addresses selection of assessment methods, integration of assessment data, case formulation, psycho-diagnosis, and treatment planning. This course has an in-person learning component, which means that students will divide their time between online coursework, virtual synchronous classes, and learning and skills practice in-person. This integrated approach facilitates the connection between online didactic learning and clinical skills practice and demonstration.
