How to Renew or Upgrade Credentials
Renewal: Renewal of educator certificates requires six (6) semester hours of college credit including at least one (1) semester credit in teaching students with disabilities. In addition to state requirements, educators must obtain current information regarding renewal requirements from their employing school district. There are some options for use of inservice hours and college level teaching toward renewal requirements.
Upgrade: Educators may be eligible for salary increases for advanced degrees earned within their certification field. Educators should contact their specific school districts for details about salary schedules and requirements.
