How to Renew or Upgrade Credentials
Renewal: Educators are required to complete 60 Professional Development Points (PDPs) every 5 years for licensure renewal. This can be a combination of college coursework, CEUs, and other approved professional learning. The school district designee approves PDPs and should be consulted prior to enrollment.
Upgrade: Educators may advance to a professional license with three years of successful teaching experience and either a recommendation from the director of schools or 30 PDPs. Educators may be eligible for salary increases for graduate degrees earned within their licensure field. Educators should contact their specific school districts for details about salary schedules and requirements.
