How to Renew or Upgrade Credentials
Renewal: Educators can renew a certificate by earning 6 semester credits related to the individualized professional learning plan (IPLP) and/or the field of certification. In-service credit completed with an ID school can be used to meet up to half (3) of the required credits. Additional information is available on the ID State Department of Education website.
Upgrade: Educators may be eligible for salary increases for coursework and advanced degrees earned within their certification field. Educators should contact their specific school districts for details about salary schedules and requirements. Salary levels are generally in 15 or 30 credit hour increments (ie. BA, BA+15, MA, etc.).
