How to Renew or Upgrade Credentials
Renewal: Educators must use the NMPED Online Licensure Portal to access the renewal application. Educators progress through a 3-tiered licensure advancement system in conjunction with an individualized Professional Development Dossier (PDD). Advancement through the licensure levels may include district-provided professional development and college coursework.
Upgrade: Educators wishing to advance to a Level III license must earn a master’s degree or National Board certification. Educators may be eligible for salary increases for graduate degrees earned within their licensure field. Educators should contact their specific school districts for details about salary schedules and requirements.
