How to Renew or Upgrade Credentials
Renewal: Educators must complete an individualized Professional Learning Plan or Professional Learning Goal coordinated with supervisor and employing LUA. They must also complete any outstanding Special Georgia Requirements that were outlined when the initial certificate was issued. Educators who are not currently employed may meet renewal requirements through semester credits or CEUs and also have other requirements to reinstate credentials.
Upgrade: Educators can upgrade the level of their certificates to reflect advanced degrees. GAPSC will only accept programs in the same field as the current certificate. Educators should access the Certificate upgrade Advisor prior to enrolling in degree programs to ensure requirements are met.
